Josh Reger
Josh considers himself a life time rider. Growing up he never really stopped riding like some others do, riding on the family farm, street riding, & riding the skinnies at Unami Park. As he got more interested in mountain biking and in repairs he started working at Saucon Valley Bikes in 2004. After graduating from Quakertown High School, Josh attended United Bicycle Institute in Oregon.
Out at UBI Josh was trained in professional mechanics, becoming an authorized Fork Technician, Wheel Builder and Frame Builder. One of his favorite bikes, still to this day, is his hand built frame he made while he was out at UBI. As well Josh has attended STU, the Sram Technical Institute, & Shimano clinics; constantly expanding his bike mechanic knowledge.
While heading out to UBI, Josh got to ride all over the country including Moab Utah, Fraiser Valley Colorado, Downieville and Mount Shasta in California. Since coming back he has gotten to ride all the local trails as well and help build some as well. You can spot Josh at Diablo Free Ride Park in Vernon NJ, still riding Unami, the many trails around the Lehigh Valley, Central PA, or leading shop rides at Jacobsburg State Park.
Josh was recently asked to help out as a mechanic for Giant Team riders Adam Craig & Kelly Emmit at a cyclocross race in Mercer County NJ. If he can wrench for the Team riders, imagine what he can do for you.
Josh continues to expand his knowledge by training with top companys every winter. In 2009 he went to Park Tool Summit for 2 days of training with Fox Shox, Sram, Rock Shox, Avid, Hayes, Campagnolo, and Shimano. In 2010 Josh returned to STU for an update on the new Sram products including the new XX drivetrain and all the new damping technologies.
So how this story looks is that he is a lifer, I mean, at what point does a person like this stop caring about bikes?
